Another dream job. Most kids love dinosaurs. I was a little more in love than most. Collaborating with my good friend writer April Jones Prince made the project even more fun. Originally the book was going to be 100 Dinosaurs, but the name ran into some legal issues, so we remained it 101 Dinosaurs. I had to go back and add one more dinosaur to the finished art.

I always refer to the book as 101 Dinosaurs, but April always reminds me that it’s 101 Dinosaurs and Other Prehistoric Reptiles. I guess flying reptiles and Marine reptiles are not technically dinosaurs. We couldn’t do the book without them, so the name had to get extended. Editors are picky about that sort of thing.
